Ballet - Exam Class

The Royal Academy of Dancing is the world’s most accredited syllabus. This method of classical ballet employs a sound structure of teaching correct posture, technique, musicality, presentation, discipline and artistry. For this reason, ballet is an essential component to mastering other forms of dance.

Students taking exam classes at EDA are required to do at least two (2) classes per week and will be sent for R.A.D. exams at the teacher’s discretion. Students will also perform at our end of year concert. Please note: these classes at EDA are for exam students only; all other ballet students should consider a Ballet Technique class.

Through these classes students have the opportunity to be selected into the Competition stream for ballet routines.

Ballet - Technique Class

This class is designed for students who undertake ballet to improve posture, carriage of the arms, strength, precision and overall technique. This class is for ballet beginners and for those interested in ballet but not wishing to take R.A.D exams. Some syllabus work may be used to help develop technical awareness.

This class is in the recreational stream of classes.
As is primarily a maintenance class does not perform a routine at the end of year concert.
